Day 12 - or 15 min. til Day 12...None of us should be up this late anyway! =)
We are packing up some last minute things for our early morning trip to Michigan for some meetings in the Upper Peninsula and in Grand Blanc. Please pray for traveling safety on unfamiliar roads and for God's will to be done in all of the meetings in churches and with friends and family along the way. We may be "internetless" (hmm..I think I just invented a new word) for a few days, but keep praying!
Pray for safety.
Pray for sanity.
Pray for self-control.
Pray for the Spirit to have free reign in hearts.
Pray for Steven and Joshua. =)
Pray for the Savior to be magnified!
Thanks for praying. =)

Eph 3:20-21 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
Day 11- To enjoy life. (Not the world's definition of enjoyment, but contentment with where God has placed us and with what He has called us to do!)

And if you missed Day 10- you can still pray!
Day 9- Keep praying for continued support increases!

Also pray for patience. Trying to schedule a doctor's appt. (Cas) here in PA. The office is open til 7pm, they only make same day appts. The office opened at 8:30am (I didn't know you could call at 8am) I called at 8:35am and they were already booked for the day. =(

Since we are often traveling on the weekend and people are busy I thought I'd send out a weekend line-up to give us all a head-start!

Day 6, Friday- Texas!
Please pray with us specifically today about scheduling some meetings in Texas.  During the past two years of traveling we have been able to stay pretty much along the Eastern seaboard with the occasional side trip into Michigan.  We have a couple of meetings scheduled in Texas for later on this year, but wanting to make the best use of our time and resources we don't want to commit to going that far for only a few days!  Can you imagine taking a one year old and a three year old from Pennsylvania to Texas, only to stay there for three or four days, and then drive back?  We have endured a lot in the car, but we would definitely need the approval and clear guiding of the Holy Spirit before attempting such a feat!

Day 7, Saturday- Insurance
Pray for some health insurance decisions that we need to make for overseas care.  Being "self-employed" we don't have the benefit of a company plan.  We need a comprehensive plan that will reimburse us for services rendered in Peru (visits, surgery, births, life flight if needed, etc.) and that will also cover us when we are stateside.  There are a lot of options out there and we need wisdom to choose one that will both meet our needs and be the best use of our finances.

Day 8, Sunday- Spirit-filled marriage relationship  "God, prepare our hearts..."
I know that upon reading this title some may be thinking, "Are they having problems?"  Anyone who is married can answer that question!  Pray that we will continually keep God first, and our relationship second, so that as we grow closer to Him, we grow closer to each other!  The uncertainties of deputation life can bring stress...that stress can cause tension...that tension can cause a focus on self...that focus on self can cause us to be unwilling to act and react with kindness and love.  Bad Old Self!  Always getting in the way of a good thing.  Pray that the response to stress would be trusting in God...yielding to His peace...turning our focus to His will...causing us to kneel before Him together and to respond with Christ-like loving kindness.  It's not always easy, but it is possible with God!

Day 5-
Special note:  Today's meeting at 11 am was rescheduled for 8 am.

Pray for good health (especially for the boys)!
If they thought about it they would probably tell you...
We travel through drastic changes of weather.  We meet a lot of people.  We shake a lot of hands.  We play with a lot of toys.  Sometimes we even get lots of hugs and kisses.
And Mommy would say...
Which means we come into contact with a lot of germs, and we aren't very keen on washing our hands!

Pray for Casandra's health (diabetes):
Right now everything is going well and we are working on diet control as a family. (which can also be affected by travel!).
Also, I have been having migraine headaches off and on of varying degrees so we are trying to determine the cause of that.  (Goodbye caffeine!)

Pray for Eric's health:
If the boys are sick it's bad.
If Mommy is sick the house gets messy for awhile.
If Daddy is sick everything stops!

Praying for the Pardines - Day 4 - "Face to Face"

Please pray for Eric as he has several "face to face" meetings with Pastors this week.
He has one at 2pm today, 11am tomorrow, and 10am on Friday.
Pray that each meeting will be a meeting of two men and the Holy Spirit!
Pray for wisdom in sharing what is on his heart concerning the work in Peru.
Pray for safety in traveling to and from the meetings.
Pray for Mommy holding down the fort while Daddy is gone!

Also today, let's just praise the Lord!
Praise God for who He is!
I praise Him because He is Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider!

Calling, Calling, Calling...
"God bless the missionaries and all that they do."
Well, here is one thing that missionaries on deputation must do without fail or they will never reach the mission field-call!  Hours and hours of calling individuals, churches, pastors.  Hours and hours of looking for new contacts from friends, family, acquaintances, the internet.  You name it....we've searched it!  Or if we haven't yet, please let us know so we can. :)

Pray for Eric as he calls today and throughout the week.  Pray that the person on the other end of the phone will be helpful and considerate.  Pray that Eric will be concise and clear in his message.  Pray that doors would be opened for us to present the work in Peru.  Pray that people will be up front about whether or not they can join our support team.  Pray for sanity as two little children run around in the background and sometimes interrupt the calm flow of the day. (Ha, ha!  Haven't seen a calm one yet.)

Most importantly, pray for Eric to stay encouraged as it may take 20 or 30 calls to reach someone who would like to receive our information packet.  Then it might take 10 of those packets being sent out to schedule one meeting.  And then it might take 20 meetings for our support to increase by 1%.  So you can only imagine the amount of stress and discouragement this could cause. Yet through it all we know that God is in control of EVERYTHING!  And if this is the small task that He asks of us on our way to Peru, then we will do it gladly.  Pray that we will not be weary in well doing!

 PRAYING FOR THE PARDINES-DAY 2

Please pray for unity within our home and within our relationships.  How can we share the gospel with a dying world if we ourselves are falling apart or tearing each other down?

Mat 26:40  "And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?"

It's hard to pray!  You literally have to stop what you are doing, calm yourself down so you can "be quiet" before God, and put your focus totally on Him.  But what great rewards praying brings!  Many times I've said that I should pray more, maybe I should say, "I need to be less selfish, stop thinking about myself, and start seeking after God with my whole heart!"  That may sound a bit harsh, but since I'm talking to myself I guess that's okay.  Jesus asked Peter why he couldn't stay awake to pray one hour, and often we find ourselves dozing off if praying takes longer than five minutes.  Totally turning your focus to God is breath-taking.  You experience His presence and He fills your heart with joy.  So come...for an hour or just a few minutes...watch with us!

When politeness backfires...
Eric and I have been trying to teach Joshua to quietly grab one of our hands and say "Excuse Me" when he sees us talking to another adult. You only imagine our surprise as we were driving home from church and talking to each other and heard a little voice say, "Um, excuse me, Guys..." at the same time that a little head popped up between our two seats!!!!! The little rascal has learned to unbuckle his seat belt. With as little panic as possible (and that's not saying much) we pulled over and Daddy rode next to him for the remainder of the trip (during which he promptly fell asleep!).

Thank you prayer partners! We needed them today. :)
Praying for more dedicated churches and individuals to join our support team this month. What man sees as impossible is possible with God!
"They" say that in 28 days you can form a new habit. Will you join us in praying the rest of this month?
Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
More to come...
Praying for the Pardines - Day One

Today we have a church meeting here in PA.
Pray for an understanding of the Great Commission in the church and for the ability to present God's work in Peru well.

Some church meeting "unknowns" often include:
-spiritual atmosphere
-nursery for boys (Will Mommy be in the service?  Will they have to page her to come and get me?)
-what will happen after the service (will we be there all day?, etc.)
-will the presentation play correctly on the church's equipment
-will the reception by the people be friendly, inquisitive, indifferent?
We go forth, holding the hand of God, and trusting Him to work all things for His glory!

Galatians 6:14a, "But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,"
