Church Planting 101

Today Eric headed off to the new building site ready to help the other men move the furniture from our rented location a few doors down to the newly completed first floor of the church. We were excited about the possibility of holding church services there tomorrow. However, when he arrived there was no moving going on. Since the new building has no windows, the task for the day was to make temporary ones with wooden frames and plastic coverings. Sounds simple enough, right? But nothing is ever as easy as it looks! In order to keep the tacks from ripping through the plastic a piece of an old cement bag had to be folded up for each tack. Only then could the tack successfully hold the plastic sheet to the wood without tearing it. So for about four or five hours Eric was the "tack man" and came home satisfied at having helped the church move one step closer to moving...but with slightly numb thumbs. =) Keep praying for the pending move and the pastor's health. Eric will be preaching tomorrow morning as the pastor preaches about missions at another church in town.
