Pardines to Peru – June 2012
Dear Prayer Warriors,
This summer is off to a great start!  We were scheduled to participate in four VBS programs during June, July and August; and as we have completed one week of Bible Camp here in PA, we are looking forward to what God is going to do in the hearts of lives of young people across the nation.  If your church is hosting a VBS this year, be sure to pray for the workers and children that week!

With the nicer weather we often take walks with the boys.  On one of these walks three weeks ago we met a man from Peru taking a walk with his daughters!  We returned to his house a few days later and received a warm welcome.  We left with plans to meet the following week for a Bible study in their home.  The mom had been to the church where we are staying several times, and we were thrilled to see the entire family this past Sunday as we shared our ministry in Peru.  We plan to meet again this week!  Please pray for the Fernandez family as we will soon be leaving the area.  God is at work in their lives and we would love to see their discipleship continue.

Bible Camp in PA
Nothing is more daunting for a teacher than that first day of school when the doors are flung open and the students arrive.  Well on the first day of Bible Camp, 247 students from Preschool through 6th grade came running up overjoyed for the day to start!  I had 14 first graders in my class and Casandra had thirty-three 5th/6th grade girls in hers.  Along with co-teachers and team helpers, the gospel was presented throughout the week and many made decisions for Christ and for spiritual growth.  It was awesome to see God at work and to be involved in ministry!  We cannot wait to use what we have learned in Peru!
One such instance of God at work was in the life of a 5th grade girl who never remembered making a decision for Christ.  She always believed she was saved based on what she had been told she did at a very young age.  Under the conviction of the Holy Spirit she came forward during one of the free times and sat down with the Pastor’s wife and received Christ as Savior!  Many more stories like this one occurred during the week, and we give God the praise and glory for what He accomplished!   Please pray for the follow-up plans for those who made decisions.

Moving on
Within two weeks we will be heading to NC for a month, and then down to Florida for more meetings and VBS times.  Please be in prayer for us as we are directing a VBS in Florida at the beginning of August.  Casandra has run several VBS’s over the years and we are excited for another opportunity to be actively involved in ministry while on deputation.  Also pray for our scheduled and “unscheduled” meetings along the way.  Our heart’s desire is to do God’s will, and we are amazed at the ways that God continues to bring in our support and add to our support team.  We had a church and two more individuals join our support team this past month (one of them actually lives in Peru!).

Family Update
Thank you for praying for us during Casandra’s second miscarriage in May.  God helped her body heal quickly, restored her energy, and kept her diabetes under control through all of the trying circumstances.  God also miraculously provided exactly what was needed to cover the bills, and we thank those who had a part in that.

Many people want to know when we are leaving for Peru.  We are ready to return now, but cannot leave yet because of finances.  We are currently at 48% and steadily climbing!  We know that God can and will provide the needed funds in His time.  We also know that He wants to provide through His people.  If you would like to be involved in what God is doing in Peru please contact us at: pardinesperu@gmail.com or call the phone number listed below.
