Give Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving!
We know it's early, but we've already had our feast and fellowship. Due to a government meeting of top people in the commerce world we were blessed with two days off school. However, in order to finish school on time in December we had to swap those two days for our two days of Thanksgiving vacation. Yet we were undaunted in our pursuit of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pie! Here's some shots of the preparations!A mini sweet potato pie made from the leftover batter. Mmm...nothing says Thanksgiving like a plump turkey. Of course...after thawing it overnight and a three hour battle to remove the strange articles stuck inside, Casandra was surprised to find that we had the majority of Tom Turkey at our disposal. So being good stewards of our purchase we disposed of the "extra" parts! The finished product...which turned out to be not as finished as we thought. After a second round of baking though we had some delicious slices to share with our friends!

  1. Ugh, those turkey feet!! I always have a struggle to get my turkey cooked all the way through when it's "supposed" to be done. Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. hahaha....I had a similar experience cooking my first peruvian turkey....I actually cried though because I was so disgusted to find the head inside....and the noise it made coming out, was not nice! After I got my head around all of that, it tasted pretty fine! Ahhh...the memories....
