Successful Summer

Whew!  That is the sound that escapes every VBS worker after the last child joyfully exits the sanctuary on the last night.

We've felt that feeling of accomplishment mingling with exhaustion four times this summer and we thank God for every opportunity He has given us to jump headlong into ministry and share the gospel in churches across the country.  We know how powerful prayer is and how necessary it is in seeing lives changed, and we thank you all for joining us in prayer for our ministry opportunities.  Each church visit along the way has been another stepping stone in our preparation for further ministry in Peru.  That is why we continue to pray for God to open doors to be used as we travel.  We are exhausted, but not tired!  For His glory!

Truth Quest VBS...The Search for Heaven!

Tonight was our first night of VBS here in Tampa, FL!  We went to the church early to do some final set-up just as the thunderclouds rolled in and heavy drops started coming down.  "Lord, keep the rain at bay!" was our heartfelt prayer.  Though the sky looked ominous the rainfall was very light compared to the downpour we experienced on the way to church last night.  We weren't sure if ten kids would show up, fifty kids, or just our two.  There were seven children when we started the first song, but God faithfully provided 25 children for our first night!  We learned some songs about Heaven and Eric taught the Bible lesson before they headed out into the drizzle to go to crafts, games/snacks, and a verse/review time.  At the end of the night one little girl was saved!  All of the late nights, early mornings, planning, running around, and stressing, were worth it, to see one more added to the Kingdom.  As we arrived at the hotel parking lot we sang praises of thanks to God (in Spanish of course).

"Demos gracias al SeƱor, Demos gracias,
Demos gracias por su amor!"
We give thanks to the Lord, We give thanks,
We give thanks for His love!

Even the Staff kids enjoyed some VBS learnin'!

"It's fun to be at Vacation Bible School!..."

It seems like our life this summer has been one big VBS!  It started out in June with an amazing week of Bible Camp at "SonRise National Park" in PA.
Eric's 1st-2nd graders, enjoying lunch to the max!
Steven, in his "class" :)

Then continued in July with a week of "IncrediWorld Amazement Park" in NC.

Joshua checking out the stage

Recently we spent three days at the "Rocky Point Lighthouse" teaching kids to "Shine God's Light".
The stage is set...complete with a giant flashing lighthouse!
Each night we were able to share different aspects of the ministry, people, and need in Peru.
Learning about how they can pray for Peru!

We were blessed by wonderful meals from the church family and thrilled at the opportunities to share Christ one on one with several of the VBS kids.
Happy Helpers: Casandra and Maria

Much prayer went into the preparation for the VBS and the Holy Spirit was definitely at work among the kids and workers alike.

We are now in Tampa, FL, and getting ready to run our first VBS as directors!  While it has been fun to organize everything, the most important thing we need is prayer.  As we passed out flyers today, one VBS worker was able to lead a young boy to Christ!  Please pray for us this week, that we would be humble servants of God, and that His Word would RUN bringing souls to Him!
